Osama Attack - Very Convenient ?

by Craig Chapman - 17:00 on 03 May 2011

9th May updates in blue

Osama Bin Laden has reportedly been shot dead by American Marines.

Given the crimes attributed to this person and his brainwashed organisation, this is a good day for those who have been harmed or killed by his actions to finally appreciate a form of justice, whilst the soldiers who carried out the raid and the planners, should rightly feel proud of a good night's work.

There are however, many VERY CONVENIENT details to the last 2 day's reporting :-

Very convenient that this announcement comes at the start of the week following Barak Obama's Hawaiian suspect passport finally showing up. Talk about diverting attention !! Obama also conveniently manged to cram countless references to God into his speech, countering the many suggestions that he might actually be a muslim himself.

Very convenient that it all occured right AFTER the Royal Wedding.

Very convenient that the whole White House crowd were all on hand to watch the events unfold, considering it was all a sudden bit of luck to finally find him - and since, Obama has changed his description of events twice :-

there was / then wasn't a 30 minutes fire fight

Bin Laden hid behind / didn't hide behind his wife

Did Obama pop out to the loo at the wrong moment during their viewing of the attack ?

Very convenient that a number of US helicopters could fly in and out of Pakistan, over 400 miles of often hostile territory, to carry out a raid so close to a major Pakistani army training compound - we very much doubt that Indian helicopters would have made it this far, or even across the border. Aaah - stealth helicopters with additional blades

Very convenient that the supposed leader of the world's most notorious terrorist outfit would not hear helicopters land on his roof and not have a Kalashnikov in his hands, seeing as every man and his dog seems to have them in abundance right across North Africa these days. Was he already under house-arrest ?

Very strange that Mr Cameron's repsonse was not along the lines of his recent Pakistani-government-looking-both-ways-on-terrorism lines. Looking back, Cameron did make a big U-turn when he met up with the Pakistani leader and gave them a sum of money (reportedly up to £650 million) to "help" poverty. I'm now thinking "was this all our money or a perhaps gift from Uncle Sam for certain information ?" Hmmmm......

I don't doubt that the US forces have taken him out, and I am very happy about this result, however the superbly planned mission sounds like it had been planned over several weeks/months and they knew where Osama Bin Laden would be long ago. Mr Obama's ratings needed a boost following the hammering over his suspect citizenship and his failure to achieve a great deal of anything else recently, especially as the election train looms again and many are not happy with his poor econmic judgement. Very Convenient !!

Cynical ? Me ? With this lot involved, many things are probably not quite as they seem.

We now read that a group 5 of Bangladeshis have been arrested taking photos of the Sellafield nuclear power station in Cumbria.

I am a little disappointed that I think we have been fed a load of codswallop to accompany the good news and it takes the shine off it all.

Taking out Osama Bin Laden to agitate other terrorists and then be ready to keep an eye on them and their potential targets - yes a very good move, but if you are going to dress it all up with all these wooden political announcements, then make it all a little more plausible PLEASE !!
