Whimsy In The Middle

by Craig Chapman - 14:41 on 30 April 2010

So the party leader debates are over and we have a week to go until the voting starts. Is anyone yet convinced who they will vote for ?

Gordon Brown has amnesia - its official.

How else could we explain his determination to get this country back on its feet when he has already had 13 years of doing his utmost to strangle the living daylights out of the Union Jack and gnaw away every pole from which it flies.

He fought last night like he was representing an opposition party and his words might well have some meaning for someone who had been hidden in a hermit cave since 1996. 10 out of 10 for effort and committment Bagpuss, shame you talk right load of b******s and couldn't mount such an effort when addressing the European Union.

Of the 2.7 million jobs you claim to have created, over 95% have gone to immigrants, with the number of private sector jobs nosediving in the process. Meanwhile you seem have already lined up another 37 visa cards with which to finance our next 5 years if by some miracle, you get voted back in again. Would it be possible to have the interest payments due in the name of the United Kingdom, transfered to your private bank accounts when we finally kick your ass out of No 10 ?

The peacock in the middle also talks a good fight, but it has no meaning when in support of some of the whimsiest polices this side of the French surrender monkeys of the 2nd world war. It really does make us wonder what a brain like Vince Cable's is doing, wrapped up with this shower.

So, on to Davey-Boy Cameron. We saw a calm and commanding performance with calls for personal responsibility and a major cap on immigration - which brought howls of delight from Bagpuss who kept asking for a precise figure.

In Davey-Boy's defence, it would be hard to explain a figure with only four zeros to someone like Gordon, who had to have wide angle contact lenses made so that he can see his budget sheets from left to right in one glance.

The problem with Cameron is that every time he starts talking some sense, he fizzles out again, not convincingly hammering home his point - mainly perhaps, because he knows his hands will be tied by a bunch of non-faces in Brussels who he knows, should have no jurisdiction upon our island. I really wish he'd have a go at the EU, he misses the opportunity every time.

Interesting too that the gentleman who raised the immigration problem was black - as were many of the audience and questioners on that night in Brum. Once more it is proven quite clearly that immigration discussions are not racist, just a matter of economics and common sense. I'm surprised Bagpuss didn't call him a bigot too !! And doesn't Bagpuss look tired.

I'm still not decided on who I will vote for, although I know it won't be Brown or Clegg. The thought of adding my own "none of the above" to the voting slip has crossed my mind more than once.

UKIP are a nightmare organisation with a superb manifesto, and have a group of leaders who couldn't be trusted to make it to the toilet on time, let alone actually turn up and vote on their key issues in Brussels.

The BNP manifesto makes some good points and they clearly want out of the EU, but again, the personalities worry me, as does their ability to carry out any of their policies. Interesting that have attracted some Sikh voters.

Greens talk a good fight until they start heralding Brussels.

Popular Alliance do have the policies for sure, but getting finance and media attention seems to be impossible these days.

So Davey-Boy might be lucky this time - don't let us down and for God sake give it some guts man - anything to get Brown and Mandleson out of town.
