Pensions, Pots, Kettles & University Challenge !!!

by Craig Chapman - 07:09 on 02 March 2009

Of course banker Fred Goodwin’s pension is wrong, indecent and down right greedy, but hearing Gordon Brown, Harriet Harperson (as she insists on being called) and other government entities saying that he doesn’t deserve a pay-off for bringing down a bank, I am intrigued to know what their penalty should be for bringing down an entire country. I think they should all lose their massive pensions and try living in the real world.

Talk about pots and kettles !!

Without wishing to rub hard working Scottish noses in the brownstuff, has anyone else noted how quiet the Scottish National Party has gone since they realised the 2 main Scottish banks have fallen apart !!

Disaster strikes at Oxford's Corpus Christie College, having won University Challenge so convincingly and then being disqualified for having a team member who has since left the University and got a job because he could not afford his course fees and living costs. Yes, rules are rules, although he had given all the correct information, however the fault lies with an administrative department somewhere (sounds familiar !!) at the College or at the BBC.

What saddens me is that a member of Gail Trimble's brilliant team should be in a position where he can't afford his Universtity fees, whilst our inside-out nation throws endless money at failed banks and their fatcats, an unaudited illegal offshore Potentate, endless greedy illegal immigrants, failed schemes and whatnot. We should be celebrating these guys and their achievements, not employing incompetant pencil necks to cock up their paperwork !!  If football captains (and I am a footie fan) can get national gongs, then I suggest Gail Trimble MBE is a must !!

Sorry about the lack of new blogs for the past week or so. Work (yes we have real jobs too - for now) has been very busy and I also play in a rock band which is about to enter the studio to record a third album. Popular Alliance has also been very busy with some radical new plans, so all will be revealed very soon.

I will give GB credit if he does recover some of the pension from Mr Godwin but I am sceptical. After all, it was the 'chum' mentality between the bankers and the OAG that contributed to this mess in the first place.
Good luck with the album.

Thanks Greg. As always with Labour, they make these claims without consulting their EU rule book, hoping we'll forget 2 weeks down the line. Goodwin's pension was signed by Labour ministers and the Gordon Brown established FSA, and Labour did not make any stipulations when they handed over our taxes. And now Brown won't apologise, even though his cabinet think they should - arrogant **&&@~> !!
