Tories Sounding Better

by Craig Chapman - 14:02 on 06 January 2009

My last Blog "Be Ashamed Mr Brown, Be Very Ashamed" included the below paragraph.

David Cameron is just ahead in the opinion polls but unable to offer any radical differences to a Labour government that has moved so far right that the Tories are almost sat on the floor. I admit to being something of an older style Tory, one without all the political correctness and inability to finish a sentence with the conviction it was started with. In Mr Cameron’s position, I’d be slapping Labour from left to right without taking letting them up for air, and yet he never quite gets there does he ? He is barely an alternative these days, let alone the answer. Nice bloke and all that but we need a leader with conviction.

Then blow me down, out they come with a series of very sensible economic measures to get British business back up and working without relying upon the State purse. In fact some of Mr Cameron's inclusions are very akin to our own existing policies which we have shouted from the rooftops for more than 2 years now, whilst the Tories have been away dancing with the fairies.

OK Dave, we've heard you get your teeth into a few subjects in the last 2 years and then fade away. Stick with this, shove it up Mr Brown's back alley and make Mr Darling's eyebrows fall out !! Don't let go of them, rip them apart and be the Conservative Party we have all been missing for so many years.

We'll back such good common sense all day long. Just please don't let these be another set of "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" proposals.

And whilst you're at it, tell them frauds in Brussels where to go too.
