EU - THIEVING SCUM !!!

by Craig Chapman - 10:13 on 22 November 2008

In the week that John Sergeant’s twinkless toes have dominated the news, the latest cost of Britain’s EU membership crept through on page 2 of The Sun and didn’t make the evening news.

The Bruges Group, reveals that the direct and indirect cost of our ridiculous membership of this unaccountable group is £55.75 billion per annum which equates to £152 million every single day !!

We have previously been ridiculed for suggesting our direct EU subs fee at £44 million every day and our suggestions of endless add-ons. We never for once dreamt the overall figure would be so high.

The most embarrassing problem is that if Gordon Brown dared to ask for a receipt and some tracking list of where that money was used, he would not get it from that organisation that operates above the law and refuses to be audited.

This man is responsible for the responsible use of our taxes and yet he embezzles it away, with no idea of how it is used. This goes far beyond deserving to lose the next election, this man and all those who back him should be crammed in the Tower Of London on a charge of extortion against the crown and against the people he is supposed to serve.

Britain sees an average 35% of our EU subs re-invested back into our economy. At £44 million per day, that equated to an average of £15.4 million daily re-investment.

OK, in line with that new Bruges Group info, let us re-calculate that £15.4 million as a percentage of the new daily rate of £152 million. That reads as just £10.13% re-investment.

Now let us re-run my previous blog about EU contribution towards a Midlands Business Park. In a kind effort to help generate new local jobs, the EU paid a figure of between £50-70 million (we keep finding different reports on the exact amount, which really demonstrates the dodgy accounting involved) whilst our own government donated approx £30 of our own taxes to the project.

Now to justify giving us the lower figure of £50 million back, when taken in the context of our actual 10.13% return figure, this Business Park actually costs the UK tax payer £500 million PLUS the £30 million from our government.

The overall cost to the British tax payer to build this Business Park was closer to £530 million and possibly up to £730 million.

We got £80 million of that invested in future British jobs, meanwhile the EU pocketed between £450-650 million of our taxes in the process. Scandalous does not even come close to describing this blatant embezzlement.

To rub more salt into those wounds. This employment area, that was scammed from British tax payers, now employs a good percentage of EU migrant workers, many of whom no doubt bank their wages back in Poland and Czech Republic, bleedding our economy even drier.

Prudence - my back side !!!

We demand that heads roll for this and every other European Union theft from our shores.

GET OUT OF OUR COUNTRY NOW, YOU THIEVING SCUM !!

Just to justify some of these figures :-

Investment in the business park - listed in the local council pamphlett as £50M EU (Regeneration scheme), £30M UK (Local Grants) + some from businesses moving onto that development (no doubt applied for through Business grants from bodies like the EU ??) Figures have differed online. No doubt the addition of a road bypass, hillside levelling, etc, play a part in the varied figure.

Bruges Group has members involved in many of the departments passing this money around. Margaret Thatcher is their Honoury Chairman. I consider their research to be the best we have to go on, whilst the EU refuses to be audited and sign off its accounts.

Comment has been made that these payments to the EU stimulates UK contract work in places like Romania - a fair point, but how competitive are we in Europe ? We are even losing contracts to lower EU quotes on our own shores and many of these new warehouses and factories employ EU migrants. How many UK staff are working in Romanian or Polish company offices and warehouses ?

If the EU would permit themselves to be audited, then they would be able to confirm the exact amounts and benefits, but as they arrogantly refuse, then I can only juggle the figures put before me.
