A Tuesday Tantrum !!

by Craig Chapman - 15:04 on 22 July 2008

The good news that the ECO Town (and therefore the chance of suitable investment) at Curborough has been shelved is met with mixed feeling in Burton on Trent, as we are now informed of likely new developments across more Greenfield land off Tutbury Road in the Outwoods district of the town.

Similarly to the Curborough situation, the need for endless new housing schemes is brought into question. We are in the midst of the lowest birth rate for decades, so quite who these houses are planned for (or in turn, the ones that people leave to move here) is anyone’s guess. The fields in question are given to flooding quite badly and they border an already congested area outside Staffordshire’s largest secondary school with large infants and juniors schools added to the complex.  Go figure !! Its beyond my comprehension, perhaps I'm thick or something ?
Approximately 140 long established, quality homes will also lose their open countryside view and therefore significant value from their homes. Those who wish to move away at the thought of these new estates have enough of a struggle trying to sell their house these days, without the added burden of facing a building site for the next 3-4 years to put-off any prospective buyer. Who does this government believe votes for them ? The answer is - it was the people who they have constantly abused through taxation and an arrogant refusal to think of people’s lives and livelihoods, but surely no more, please no more !!
With moves like this, the Labour government even overrules its own brown field building initiatives and Christ knows we have enough such areas around Burton on Trent, lying unkept in a mess.

Thanks to our government’s complete mis-management of this country for 11 years and the shambolic, self-serving order that stood before that time, we appear to be preparing a country that even the Eastern European migrant workers are about to turn their backs on. Does this mean that the United Kingdom is now eligible to receive huge European Union hand outs to re-build our economy, in the same manner that we have rebuilt much of Europe with our hard earned taxes ?  Get Brown on the streets of Brussels with his beggy-bowl NOW !!

Just as ridiculous is the fact that we cannot even refer to this green field land due to be lost, as ACRES anymore. Some government junior flunky managed to lose 800 years of English heritage in the middle of some unnoticed EU paperwork. The arrogance and disdain these people show anything with a remotely British heritage is disgusting. Apart from my regular calls for Mr Fawkes to help us out with a cunning plan, I’m not sure there is anything that we can do about these endless give aways to Brussels. The people of this country have long since given up caring and yet they are the only ones who can make a legal difference.
Well, rest assured good people, this website welcomes the use of any traditional British terminology and to hell with them – literally !! The term “acre” also has a soundalike in the word “acher” which we propose is inflicted upon any pillock daring to try and enforce this rubbish.

One aspect of the anti-EU feeling that does concern me is that the recent NO vote in Ireland was much campaigned for by a certain Gerry Adams of Sinn Fein notoriety. Like him or loathe him, this man does make an impact and fights for what he believes in. Are we likely to see bombs on the streets of Brussels as arrogant bigots like Sarkozy demand that Ireland collectively says sorry and changes its vote to YES to the impossible Lisbon Treaty ? This is often what happens when democracy is abused by an arrogant, elite governing body or interferrence from another country - this is what the catholics of Northern Ireland accused the British government of doing to them and is also very much what we now accuse our present British government of doing to its own people. I might joke about calling for Mr Fawkes, but I cannot ignore that what the EU and our own government are doing to this country is, as reported in endless history books, often eventually sorted out by violence. This concerns me greatly and I ask the EU creeps to consider what they might force some people into doing by their overbearing actions.

We also learn that local council inspectors can waltz into our homes to check if the home owner is hypnotising dancing bears, to infect pot plants with rabbits stored in a non-EU fridge. Well I for one am really glad to know that my hard earned taxes are being well managed. The answer at my door will be 2 words and the second one is “OFF.”

We call upon the entire Britsh population to unite and tell Gordon Brown and his European Union cronies to _______  OFF !! (please add your verb of choice).

I fear the alternative consequences.
