Politician or Wannabe Journalist ?

by Craig Chapman - 10:55 on 28 December 2007

I read a very interesting piece today, presented by one our fellow new parties in the UK. Although beautifully alliterated, it sounded very much like a white flag, waved by someone who'd prefer to be a journalist with no responsibility for his/her warblings, than someone bravely offering an alternative, improved picture for our nation's future.

Some interesting points that I agree with include :-

(i) the fact that it will take some catestrophic cock-up for all 3 main UK parties to implode, so we've got some very hard work ahead

(ii) that smaller parties are wasting their time looking to combine their efforts as there are too many egos, opposing (or just plain weak) policies on offer, beliefs and levels of appeal involved.

(iii) the public is not generally in the habit of looking beyond the end of their noses in these days of endless media on tap, but unless that very media allow us some space, the UK will be stuck in this rut for a very long time - they didn't write that one, I did, but its a fact

The reviewer tried to poke a bit fun at parties like ours, regarding our EU corruption warnings and their plans to take over our shores, about which we must remind them that we are simply exposing papers already compiled and held in Brussells. We only deal in facts, ignore them at your peril.

Well guys, its policies, and only policies, that will change UK politics.

Popular Alliance has HOPE for the future, not gloom.

Popular Alliance offers MAJOR CHANGE, not simply fiddling around, trying not to upset the PC police.

Popular Alliance shouts from mountain tops, stands by its across-the-board policies, aims and has full confidence in its work.

Sorry guys, but if you have to apologise for getting nowhere and then busy yourselves analysing that fact, you may as well join the LibDems, as have many Labour and Conservative politicians - and our country is a far worse place to live and work because of that wet Liberal interference.

I didn't really wish to give their report any creedence, however it displays such a perfect example of the narrowness offered in response to the endless cock-ups made by our government and that I believe that it reflects a lot of the reasons why small parties are given so little coverage.
