If flattery is the sincerest form of compliment, then the premier Dragon racing yacht construction firm of Petticrows in Burnham on Crouch have nodded their head at our two heroes, Borge Pedersen and Poul Thuesen.

In researching and developing the new v6 Dragon, Petticrows had access to several beautiful, fast P & T Dragons, allowing them to investigate the properties of the hulls to better understand their renowned boat speed. They were able to use the services of a world expert in photogrammetric scanning who carried out a series of scans, which were then overlaid onto the existing Petticrow hull shape. The data obtained was then passed onto expert boat designer Phil Morrison who was able to create the shape for a new hull mould. This lead to the creation of the v6 Petticrows Dragon.

The v6 had its first win, as well as a fourth place, at the Juan Carlos regatta in Cascais. This was followed by another first, a third and a fifth place at the World Championship, also in Cascais.

It's clear that even after fifty years, P & T knew how to build not only the most beautiful wooden hulls, but also the fastest!
