Børge Pedersen

Børge Pedersen, who was born in 1916, trained as a master boat builder. He married and had a son and two daughters. His son Finn worked with his father in the yard from 1960 to 1966 before becoming a naval architect. Børge’s father, who lived in the Bramdrupdam suburb of Kolding, ran a coach building firm, which included a workshop and stable outbuilding with a good sized loft which was where the firm first set up. Børge Pedersen died in 2001. 

Børge’s half brother Knut Hammer worked with him at the yard from the mid 1960s, alongside Poul’s brother Peder Thuesen, pictured below with his brother. In fact it would appear that another set of brothers, the Quornings, also worked there and again they are pictured below. They went on to each start their own boat building yards. In the 1970s Oluf Jørgensen worked there and now runs the famous Danish yard Luffe Yachts. A list of people known to have worked at the yard is here.
