Two man inrigger

To begin with the firm continued to concentrate on making inriggers for the local rowing clubs. These included double and four man sculls as well as single sculls. The two friends had become extremely skilled craftsmen and they concentrated on building boats that were absolutely first class and constructed to the very best of their ability. Their reputation amongst Danish rowing clubs quickly spread, mostly by word of mouth and recommendation, such was the quality of their work. For example, writing in March 1954 Poul Thuesen informed the Lyngby Rowing Club, on a letterhead declaring the firm as a ‘Racing rowing boats specialist yard’, that as they were so busy it would not be until the end of the summer they could build an exercise skuller, at an approximate cost of Kr 1,400. Later that same year in December, Pedersen & Thuesen delivered a two man inrigger to the Graasten Rowing Club for a cost of Kr 2,800. Over time they were able to employ additional skilled craftsmen and even an apprentice or two. With this increased capacity they were also able to build a small number of dinghies and even yachts for new customers.
