HILLFORT HIKE 2010

Following the success of our recent sponsored walk (Wareham to Woodbury Hillfort) raising money for St Mary's first school in Swanage, we have a further sponsored walk planned for early next year

Route (to be finalised) will begin in the north Dorset region of Hambledon Hillfort, and over a weekend will follow many ancient routes down to Badbury Rings, Woodbury Hillfort, culminating in the spectacular earthworks of Maiden Castle, Dorchester.

Hikers will be in period dress of their choice, Celtic, Pict or Roman, and we will aim to camp each night either in or near one of these great historic earthworks. The walk is to raise money for Swanage Middle School, however it is open to hikers who want to raise funds for their own charities too.

Dates (to be confirmed) should be first weekend of March 2010
