The Parish Council have also recently purchased a hand gritter or spreader, which is a two wheel hand barrow type machine.  So hopefully if the winter is not as bad as the last,  we can grit the pavements and other icy spots with salt and grit when required.

The Parish Council also purchased, some time ago a portable electricity generator and a portable water pump.  These are attached to 'hand pull' trolleys for emergency use arround the Parish as, and when required.  After the recent parish meeting (August 5th 2011) and the huge rain storm which flooded Back Street, it was noted that access to these peices of emergency equipment will have to be widened and improved

On the 5th December 2013 a surge of water along the River Humber and Ouse fortunately missed this village, purely by luck, but a lesson was learnt that improvemets to our early warning preparations and information was required.  This has now been updated and hopefully in another emergancy we will be more prepared
