Last Friday we set out with our two road sledges to run "The Last 11 Miles" back to school. The event is part of national initiative to mark the centenary of Scott’s Antarctic Expedition co-ordinated by Inspire Youth Development. The last 11 miles signifies the distance Scott and his men were from their stores depot when they perished after running out of food and fuel. The group took turns to pull the sledges at a jog starting at Clashfearn near Badnabay, via Laxford Bridge, Rhiconich and Badcall Inchard arriving in school 1 hour and 50 minutes later. The group expect to have raised in excess of £1000, the actual amount will be known when all the sponsor forms and money come in. It was a great effort by all those involved, they should be very proud of their achievements.
