Last Saturday a group of 14 of us headed to the Bught Park to watch the annual shinty hurley fixture. We were armed with our sheep banner and our Scotland flag to cheer on our national team. The game was very fast paced and as we were standing right behind the Scotland bench we saw all the players who came of injured. Amongst the injuries was an ankle, a split head, and towards the end a player got some teeth knocked out. Boy are we gald our youngsters wear helmets! Unfortunately Scotland lost to Ireland who took home the Marine Harvest Quaich but we had a fantastic time and the atmosphere was great. A couple of our players were lucky enough to be thrown a hurley ball by one of the Scotland coaches, a great souvenir of the day.
