Last weekend saw us travel to Stornoway to take part in the Minch Medal Tournament. We were going as the defending champions having won the gold medals in 2009 and 2008. Our first game was against Lewis who have really come on in the last year. It was a good hearted game with Kinlochbervie Camanachd winning comfortably with a 5-1 scoreline. Our second game was against Uist, who had also beaten Lewis 3-2. This was a much tougher game with Uist in the lead 2-0 at half time. However our players are nothing if not resilient and were not for giving up and scored two goals to equalise with the Uist side, who then rapidly replied with a third goal. With seconds to go KLB were on the back foot until a fantastic ball from Oliver hit the back of the net. We had won gold on goal difference! The supporters on the sidelines were emotional and nervous wrecks as we headed home. Thanks to all who took part, it was another great day in Stornoway.
