On Tuesday 13 players from P7 to S4 made the journey down to Kiltarlity to take part in the U16 Wade Cup, one of the Schools' Camanachd cup competitions.  We knew it was going to be a very difficult competition for the players but a good experience also.  We played Charleston (last years winners), Glen Urquhart and Dingwall and although we didn't win our games it gave the players a taste of the level of shinty being played further south.  After discovering that many of the players in the other teams played for the junior sections of shinty clubs such as Lovat, Beauly and Caberfeidh we didn't feel so bad!  The organisers praised our players for having the guts to come down and go up against such established teams, so hopefully next year we can go down and show them how much we have improved! We also raised a few eyebrows having the sole girl of the competition in our team, but she soon showed the doubters what she was made off and won praise for her tenacity and shinty skills!
