The Cardigan Belly Dance Festival at the Small World Theatre on 13/14th August was a great success!

The Fiesta (Hafla) on Saturday evening was quite well attended, with a great souk (especially the Moonstone Bellydance stall) and Guinevere Clark's Belly Dancer's Treasure Pack available to look at and buy.  The buffet looked good too, although I got rather too busy to eat much.

I had a pretty full workshop for Belly Dance Basics on the Sunday morning.  As no-one in the workshop was a complete beginner, we had a fairly intensive time, addressing a stack of basic dance concepts, looking at the major movement groups and using basic movements to improvise to a couple of arabic pop songs.  Congratulations, ladies, you worked really hard, as did the ladies attending Rose's workshop, where they learnt the choreography in under 2 hours and came through to perform it for my group.

I joined the Tribal Tune Up workshop given by Lyza in the afternoon. We used the dance studio in Theatre Mwldan for this one, to leave space for Guinevere and Shelle Belle to drum and dance in the main space at Small World.
