Remedial Treatments

Most people can find benefit from Sports Therapy techniques (e.g. Remedial Massage & Injury Treatment) – it’s not just for athletes!

Remedial Massage is a focused treatment for chronic pain conditions that combines a variety of techniques such as Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Muscle Energy Techniques, to release areas of tightness, pain and dysfunction.  These massage styles work deeper into the muscle fibre and connective tissue.  The movements are slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and discomfort.

Examples of conditions that can benefit are:

·         Stiff/Painful muscles of joints

·         Headaches

·         Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI)

·         Neck and Shoulder Pain

·         Sciatica

Prior to receiving a remedial massage, a full consultation will be performed often followed by a postural assessment and/or joint assessments and muscle tests.  These tests help provide information that will tailor the hands on treatment to the clients specific needs.
