Here are just some of the Suggested Actions to Date:
- Clean up the Alleyway at back of Park View Road and look at ways to prevent it from remaining a fly tipping paradise
- Work with Police to deter drug dealing activities by the bus stop on junction of Wilmer Road & Park View Road.
- Campaign for a covered bus shelter with seats on Wilmer Road/more reliable 680 bus service
- Install community Information Boards in area
- Use plants, shrubs & bulbs to make the area more visually pleasing
- Work to get the Scotchman Road Sports area a managed and usable community facility again - outdoor gym one suggestion
- Look at getting more waste bins installed in the area
- Negociate for Council Sweeping machines to regularly sweep the area
- Raise awareness of the Council Bulk waste collection service so people don't feel the need to dump furniture/white goods on the streets
- Look at community uses for the field at the back of Heaton Road
- Look to get community composting facilities installed in the area.
- Campaign for the installation of more drainage grates on Heaton Road so that when it rains heavy the cellars don't flood as the water can't escape into drains.
- Look to put on Farmers Market on Scotchman Road Field on regular basis
- Explore using Unity Centre @ St Cuthbert's Church on Wilmer Road more as a multi-faith community resource
- Work with local business to improve look of area
- Campaign for the redevelopment /action on old Fountain Inn pub site
- Look at community access/use of Reservoir site
