Ramp Up The Red
06 February 2014

Friday 7th February is Ramp Up The Red day.

It’s the day take wearing red to the extreme. Go as red as you dare to raise money and help the British Heart Foundation fight coronary heart disease.

Here in Inverness pupils at Bun-Sgoil Ghaidhlig Inbhir Nis will be supporting cardiac patients across the area when they take part in this year’s BHF ‘Ramp up the Red' campaign.

Christine Sumner, whose daughters Isla and Kirsty go to the school, works in Coronary Care and Cardiac Rehabilitation for NHS Highland and sees firsthand what those with cardiac problems go through.
She said:-   “The British Heart Foundation do a great job in supporting those with cardiac problems across the country as well as research so we can learn more about the causes behind it and what will help to prevent it happening.   I really like the idea of ‘ramping up the red’ and approached my daughters school to see if they would be interested. I was delighted with how enthusiastic the pupil council were about it and I hope Friday will be a fun day that will help raise some money for a great cause.”
