Hand Washing
24 October 2012

As many will have read in the press Raigmore Hospital has once again had to close a ward.   This time it is because of an outbreak of Norovirus, the wintwer vomiting bug.

Many of these contagious bugs could be controlled if everyone adopted appropriate hand hygine measures.

NHS Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire teamed up with Northamptonshire NHS Foundation Trust to produce this catchy video to promote handwashing in a very special way.

Everyone has a part to play in helping to prevent the spread of common winter infections including diarrhoea and vomiting and respiratory viruses such as flu.

Hand washing with soap and warm water is the most important thing you can do to help reduce the spread of infections.
This simple measure, plus not visiting a patient in hospital if you are unwell yourself, can make a big difference and will help protect you, your family and those around you.
