Mandi Smith, lead heart failure nurse is a finalist in the Scottish Health Awards 2011.

The Scottish Health Awards recognise and reward the commitment and hard work of those who work in, and with, NHS Scotland to provide an outstanding level of care to the public.

The judges selected Mandi as a finalist for the Care for Long Term Illness Award after a thankful patient nominated her to acknowledge the expert care and support she provided during a difficult period of ill health.

Combining the caring skills of a traditional nurse with an exceptionally high degree of clinical knowledge, Mandi Smith was able to allay the fears and concerns of the lady and her family.

.. but we all already know how much she cares.
