One of our readers kindly e-mailed us with a link to 'Lucky2BHere' a local Highland heart related charity.   We were naturally delighted to add it to our Links page.

However, so impressive is the work that Lucky2BHere does for rural and remote Highland communities that it deserves some more detail than just the link.

Lucky2Bhere was established in 2007 when Ross Cowie experienced a cardiac arrest and was lucky in that the attending ambulance was able to use the lifesaving equipment it carried on-board.

As a result of his experience he decided to raise funds to purchase a defibrillator for the Skye Camanachd Shinty Club in Portree.  From these beginnings L2BH grew and is now a registered Charity run on a voluntary basis with many people offering their time and support.

L2BH provides portable defibrillators, other life saving equipment and all neccessary training to many rural and remote Highland communities.

Here is a short video of them delivering just such equipment and training in beautiful Knoydart -
