Eggs-asperated

by John - 16:34 on 06 August 2012

The debate as to wither the consumption of eggs is good or bad for our health has rumbled on since Edwina Curry first made her infamous pronouncement.

To-date the argument has swung positively in favour of the goodness and benefit of eggs in our diet.
Recent scientific publication in journals such as 'Neuron' has extolled the virtue and benefit of eggs.   NHS Choices states on its website that -
"Eggs are a good choice as part of a healthy, balanced diet. As well as being a source of protein, they also contain vitamins and minerals. They can be part of a healthy meal that's quick and easy to make."

But now, in an article just published in 'Atherosclerosis Journal' researchers in Canada have found that eggs, in particular egg yolks, are linked to heart disease.    Due to causing a build up of carotid plaque, a waxy substance that clogs blood vessels.

I for one will continue with my daily collection from my feathered friends.
The only decision I have to make is - how to cook the daily offering - boiled, poached, scrambled, fried?
