For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed a block of that delicious Highland Toffee confection. My relations with this producrt started many, many years ago when I was but a wee laddie in shorts. At the weekend I would visit my grandparents where one of my chores was to bring in the sticks and the coal. For this task I was rewarded with a 'wooden thrupenny' by my grandfather. Just the price of a large bar of McCowans Highland Toffee. (For the sake of our younger readers a 'wooden thrupenny' was the name for a threepenny piece, the old brass 3d coin, equivalent to about 1.25p in new money) Add your comment Please note that whenever you submit something which may be publicly shown on a website you should take care not to make any statements which could be considered defamatory to any person or organisation. | ![]() ![]() |
