FMembers come mostly from the Glasgow area and the west of Scotland, but some are from further afield, such as Inverness area.

The Club is affiliated to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland, and currently club member Donald Shiach is an elected director of the MCofS.

As a benefit of MCofS affiliation, all club members are members of the MCoS, and can use their mebership to obtain a discount rate for adventure travel insurance through the British Mountaineering Council.

In addition the Club is covered by MCofS liability insurance for its club activities. Details can be downloaded from the library pages.
