Poetry Workshops

You don't need a degree to be a writer and you don't need teachers or textbooks to show you how to write. All you need is to tap into your own imagination and experiences.
The East Kilbride Arts Council Poetry Workshops will help you learn to write by writing.
Held over eight weeks, the workshops will explore a number of themes relating to specific styles and examples of poetry along with discussions on performance skills and how to find new ways of expressing your thoughts on paper.
Writing is a solitary occupation - but once you've written your poems you'll need an audience to hear them. The workshops will culminate in a public performance of the work you have written throughout the term in a live poetry reading before an audience at East Kilbride Arts Centre, along with the publication of an anthology containing selections of your work.
Come along and have fun with words!
