Cherished Woods

Some of the woodland adjacent to that covered by the Woodland Trust at Dyffryn  is privatedly owned.   This woodland is cherished by the Bryncoch Environment Group (BEG) - including the area covered by the EYE-SORE PHOTOS  (Menu).

Questions may arise about the land owner being responsible for the ground he owns.   However, it is comforting to know that the woodland is under the watchful eye of BEG - people who care for the environment.    Having said that, BEG can do only what they can, relying on the local authority to exert some sense of control with Tree Protection Orders.

However, there may be some residents who think that this area of natural beauty should be under the umbrella of the National Trust who exert a sense of power that is respected by the authorities.

Others think that the area should have more consideration from the NPT Council, bearing in mind that they care for the lovely Gnoll Grounds on the other side of the river Neath.

Nothing can be said against the arguement that the woodlands in the Dyffryn-Bryncoch area could do with the need of a caring authority with a legal punch.

In towns and cities it has been found necessary to have traffic wardens to have control over motorists.   Without them car owners would virtually park anywhere, causing problems.   The same thing applies to woodlands, wardens should ensure that no-one is tempted to do any fly-tipping and tree cutting.

Perhaps the issues raised on this website may inspire those in authority to move forward to care for the environment - and the residents who live in the area.
