Dear Supporter

We're planting six million trees this year to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee – and aim to plant a whopping one million of them this February. There are still five days to go before the month is over – can you help?

You could attend a tree-planting event or simply plant a tree in your garden: to find out how go to jubileewoods.org.uk

If you have already helped out, thank you. And don't forget to spread the word so your friends, family and neighbours can be part of this historic project too. You could even download a poster for your local library, hobby group, or doctor's surgery. Everyone who plants a tree can be entered into a special Royal Record, which will eventually be presented to Her Majesty The Queen herself.

Jubilee Woods is an amazing project that will leave a lasting legacy for future generations to value and enjoy. Be one in a million this month and be part of something wonderful.

  Tree-planting events near you

Our online Royal Record of Tree Planting for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth shows all the Jubilee Woods activity happening near you. At the end of the project we will present our collection of records to Her Majesty The Queen as well as preserving a copy in the British Library for generations to come.

High Speed Two – the decision is out
The government's decision to go ahead with the chosen route for the High Speed Two rail link between London and Birmingham will condemn 21 ancient woods, despite other route options having less of an impact on people and the environment. We are continuing work to try and save these woods and lessen the impact the final scheme will have on our natural heritage.

  Dedicate a tree to mum

Mothering Sunday is on 18 March and what better way to mark the occasion than by dedicating a tree for mum in a beautiful woodland setting. Whether it's for a gift on the day or in memory of your mother, Dedicate a Tree comes with a personalised dedication certificate to convey your feelings perfectly.

Allow 5 working days for postal dedications. Emailed certificates can be sent right up to Mother's Day itself.

Woodland Trust takes stand against
‘fly-grazing’

The Woodland Trust (Coed Cadw) understands there are 1,000 to 2,000 horses illegally abandoned across south Wales, a problem that has been called ‘fly-grazing’. One of our woods, Monks Wood, has been severely damaged as a result. Will you help us raise this important issue with Assembly Members?

Thank you

Sue Holden, Chief Executive
