UPDATE

The proposed tribute to Shulf will not go ahead in May as proposed. It is proving a lot more difficult to get firm committments from ex players and officials than thought. Without an idea of numbers a venue or catering can't be booked.

It has to be said that the response to the newspaper notifications and the website posting has been poor. The event may go ahead at a later date if things change.

Things seem to be moving now on the idea of organising a tribute to Shulf as previously posted below. It is proposed to hold the event in May 2012.

Big Tam and Johnny have come up with the idea of a posthumous award to Shulf in line with other awards by the Burgh of Lanark to other sporting greats

It has been suggested that Douglas Amats players and officials including wifes/partners have a get together at which an award would be presented for the contributions that Shulf made to football in this area and in general
