A chess 'experience' for everyone.  Whether you're an expert or just a beginner you'll find some games to suit your ability.

 

The 123rd tournament has been supported by 33 players!  Thank you one and all!

My personal thanks to each and everyone who supported us!  A special thanks to all who helped with the furniture and equipment setting up and down.

Format:- Our 14th Year in Poplar - a FIDE rated Major

6 x 60 Minute Rounds with a 30 minute break for lunch after Round 3 finishes at 2pm.

Digital DGT clocks are used now and so the rate of play will be 25 minutes plus a 5 second increment from move 1, in each round.

Play starts at approximately 10.30am.

Round Two at 11.45am.

Round Three at 1.00pm

Lunch Break!

Round Four at 2.30pm

Round Five at 3.45pm

Round Six at 5.00pm

Giving out of the prizes by 6.20 pm.-before if possible!

2 rating bands; Minor below 1650 ECF and Major below 2000 FIDE.

Entry Fee (if notified in advance of intention to play) ; £32 with a £4 discount for junior players under 18 and senior players over 60.

NO LATE ENTRIES on the day!

Fee includes unlimited tea & coffee between 1:00pm & 3:00pm plus a sandwich style lunch before 2:30pm!
