Text Messaging Service 27 April 2012 TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE As a Practice, we constantly strive to improve the service we provide to our patients. We have recently started to us a text messaging service to remind patients about pre-booked appointments, with both the Doctors and Nurses, in the hope that this will help to reduce the number of patients who do not attend. Failure to attend puts a lot of stress on the system as appointments are wasted that could be used for patients who really need to be seen. Hopefully by reminding patients about their pre-booked appointment, we will reduce the number of failures to attend and should increase availability. If you would like to be included in this service we would appreciate you letting us know your up to date mobile number when you next attend the Health Centre. Should you wish to be reminded about appointments for other members of your household, such as children, please let the receptionist know when informing us of your mobile number so that we can update their records accordingly. If you share your mobile number with other family members please be aware that they will get messages informing them about appointments intended for you. Alternatively, please feel free to e-mail the practice with your details at castlemedicalgroup@nhs.net ensuring you give your address and DOB so that the information is added to the correct record. It would be most helpful if when you make an appointment in advance but at a later date find you are unable to attend you let the practice know as soon as possible so that the appointment can be offered to somebody else.
