PROPOSED CHANGES TO APPOINTMENT SYSTEM

We realise that some of our patients are dissatisfied with the current appointment system, and we apologise to any patients who are finding it difficult to book an appointment to see their own doctor.

In January 2014 we will be surveying patients to see which of the following two systems they would prefer:

1. All appointments for urgent and routine matters will be booked on the day that the patient wishes to be seen (not in advance)
    
2. Appointments for urgent problems will be booked on the day and routine appointments will be bookable in advance

Option 2 is in effect what we have now.

Option 1 in effect takes us back to a system we had several years ago, which most people liked!
