Out of Hours
If you need to contact a doctor outside normal working hours (between 6.30 pm and 8.00 am Monday to Friday or at weekends or on bank holidays) you may either:
-
Telephone 01200 413535 - your call will be transferred to the NHS 111 Service
or
-
Telephone 111 - you will get through directly to the advice service
If you then need to see a doctor, you may be invited to go to the Out of Hours Centre at The Royal Blackburn Hospital, or Clitheroe Community Hospital. You may also receive a home visit out of hours if you are unable to attend one of these centres.
The Out of Hours service is staffed by local doctors who provide medical cover when the surgery is closed (East Lancashire Medical Services).
NHS 111 Service
NHS 111 is a service provided by NHS Direct who not only organise out of hours services, but also provide health advice 24hrs a day.
