Appointment details

 

Appointments are 10 minutes long. If you have multiple problems to discuss, please speak to reception about booking a longer appointment. We will attempt to give you an appointment with your usual doctor where possible.

 

We endeavour to get the balance right between being able to see a doctor on the same day for urgent problems and being able to book ahead to see a particular doctor about an ongoing or non-urgent problem. Each surgery has a mixture of appointments that are bookable on the day and those bookable up to four weeks in advance. We review the system regularly to ensure the best possible mix of availability of appointments.

 

We will always do whatever we can to fit in urgent problems on the same day. In order to prioritise, reception may ask clinical details so that these can be passed on to the doctor in the case of urgent requests. Reception also may ask for these details to see if the problem could be dealt with in the Minor Ailments clinics run by the practice nurses. If requesting an urgent appointment there may be less chance of seeing the doctor of your choice.
