Prayer Diary Jul - Aug 2013

CANISBAY CHURCH PRAYER DIARY JULY/AUG 2013

1st                                    Aug.1st: Lunches
Listening God, thank You that You answer our prayers even
before we pray them. Keep us in regular communication with
You. Help us, too, to listen for Your voice.

2nd
The school holidays have started! Thank You, Living Lord, for
the dedicated teachers to we owe so much. Thank You for our
teachers who serve in today’s culture when life in the classroom
can be very stressful. Give to each one a thoroughly good holiday!
  They fully deserve it.

3rd
The Lord’s Prayer: Matt.6.9-13
Here Jesus has given us a perfect prayer. As you use this Prayer
Diary over the next two months, it would be a good idea to return
often to this prayer and reflect on it. You’ll find blessing!

4th      July 4th: Lunches        Aug. 4th: ‘Royal Service’
Give thanks for the popular initiative offered by the weekly unches!
Pray that more members of our church and community will feel
drawn to give their support and that friends and visitors will
continue to come along. On 4th August give thanks for the annual
visit of HRH the Duke of Rothesay. Pray for Lyall, for the children
who will sing and for others taking part. May God bless each one!

5th
God says, ‘Give ear and come to me’ Isaiah 55.3 Listen for the
Lord - you might turn off the TV, mobile, music and hear better….
.
  6th
Remember those known to us who suffer from dementia - such a
distressing condition. Strengthen those who love them and seek to
care for them. Assure them that You love them and understand.

7th
Merciful Father, we pray today for all those who are facing worries
and concerns which they feel are likely to overwhelm them. Help
them to turn to You and to be reassured that You hear all our
prayers.

8th                                            Aug.8th: Lunches
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God.  Gal.3.26
We are called to respect all our fellow Christians as the Lord does.

9th
Thank You, dear Lord, for the pleasure and privilege of Christian
friendship and fellowship. Encourage us all to help one another and
to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. It is still true that
actions speak louder than words: may we consistently show Jesus
in our actions.

10th
Creator God, we give You thanks for Your world. Each season
brings its own joys and now in summer we look forward to
enjoying long and hopefully warmer days. Help us to slow down
our pace of life and open our eyes to appreciate the glory and
   beauty around us.

11th  July: Lunches
Why is it that so often we are so shy of each other? Remember the
scripture: Greet one another with a holy kiss.  2 Cor.13.12

12th
‘Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief!’ These words were spoken to
Jesus in His days on earth. They are true for each of us too. Living
Lord, strengthen and help us to trust You more and more each day
as we bring our deep needs to You..

13th
Father God, sometimes we find it hard to understand what Your
will is for us. Please help us. And, on the occasions when we do
understand but are reluctant to obey, work in our hearts and minds
to make us willing. You know what is best!

14th  July: short service in CGH
Give us a generous heart and spirit so that the Lord’s work may be
done. God still challenges us today through His Word: Will a
mortal rob God? Mal.3.8. Check it out!

  15th                                  Aug.: Lunches
Bless all parents, Lord. We pray for the homes of our church and
community, particularly thinking of any where there are anxieties.
Help us all to find strength in You and to respect You as our
  Heavenly Father.

16th
Bounteous Lord, we thank You for all that we have. Even in this
time of austerity we have relatively so much when we compare
ourselves with others. Help us to be willing to share when we see a
  need.

17th
They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty. 2 Kings 12.15
Faithful God, help us to trust one another.

18th  July: Lunches   Aug.: short service in Pulteney House
Preaching almost every Sunday for weeks on end is a huge and
time-consuming commitment! Keep on praying for Lyall, that
God’s Holy Spirit will continue to inspire him with God’s message
and grant freshness, relevance and acceptance. Pray for
encouragement as our own people and visitors come to church each
Sunday.

19th
Merciful Father, be specially near to those whose lives are drawing to a close whether in hospital or being cared for at home. Comfort them and all who love them. Help them to know that You will never leave them.

20th                          Aug.20th: children back to school
Splendour and majesty are before him; strength and joy in his dwelling place. 1 Chron.16.27
Awesome Lord, may our Church be worthy of You!

21st
Loving God, we pray today for each person in our church and community who is ill, either at home or in hospital. Some of them have been unwell for a long time. Be very close to them in their weakness and, if it is Your will, grant them healing and new strength. Thank You for our Health Service and particularly for our own doctors, nurses and carers. Keep them in good health.

22nd                              Aug.22nd: Lunches
Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Church worldwide, today we remember all who worship in places where there is persecution; where pastors live in fear of arrest; where sharing the Gospel is forbidden. Keep us faithful in praying for these sisters and brothers, and help us never to take the freedom we have for granted.

23rd
Merciful Father, we pray for Your people who are involved in a Faith Healing Ministry. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Give us eyes to see the gifts of the Spirit exercised in our day and help us to display the fruit of the Spirit more clearly in our lives.

24th
Grey hair is a crown of splendour; it is attained by a righteous life. Prov.16.31
In our society some dismiss the elderly. May we - and others- give them the honour they deserve.

25th  July: Lunches
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for being such a faithful God Who never leaves us. Thank You for answered prayer and, on the occasions when we struggle to wait for Your answers, remind us gently that Your timing is always perfect.

26th
Over the summer months many of us have periods of holiday when we can take time away from work or from our normal pursuits to relax with friends and family. We pray that these holidays will allow us to return with fresh joy in our hearts to continue to serve You in our church and community.

27th
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for my friends who pray faithfully for me. Bless them richly and encourage them day by day. If I need it, remind me to share with them how their prayers have been answered!

28th
Living Lord, we thank You for the encouragement we receive from the visitors who happily attend our services during the holiday season. Thank You for fellowship shared and for their prayers for us when they return to their home churches. Bless richly these brothers and sisters in the huge Christian family.

29th                              Aug.29th: Lunches
Faith is truly believing in God even though we cannot see Him. Gracious God, increase our faith and give us greater confidence in You so that we expect greater things from You.

30th
Forgive us, Merciful Father, for the times when we have spoken out when we should have remained silent, and also for the times when we have remained silent but should have spoken. May we be lights shining in this dark world and ambassadors for Christ in everything we do.

31st
They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord. They were to do the same in the evening. 1 Chron. 23.30
Let’s never forget how much we have to give God thanks and praise
for! Let’s do this continually!

May God bless you throughout these summer months!
