CAG Celebrates 10 Years of Stargazing

Caithness Astronomy Group formed at the end of 2008, to enable local stargazers to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy (IYA 2009) via a number of stargazing and astronomy based learning events that took place throughout the year.

So, in December 2018, CAG will celebrate 10 years of holding local astronomy events.  To help us celebrate we are delighted to welcome back frequent guest speaker Prof Martin Hendry MBE.....

Then on 14th Dec CAG will have its annual end of year Meteors & Mince Pies members evening where we'll hopefully get the chance to see lots of Geminid meteors & possibly also a comet bright enough to be seen with the naked eye.

Indoors between refreshments Chairman Gordon Mackie will look back over the past 10 years of CAG activities and will also give an overview of the astronomical things to watch out for in the coming year. In addition Christian Wilhelm will talk about the complexities of planetary missions and humans travelling to other celestial bodies in the solar system.
