The next event is on 10th June and is a CAG Members only event covering a range of topics and activities including Telescope/ Equipment demos, high frame rate solar, lunar and planetary imaging, The Apollo Image Database.
We'll then be taking a break for the summer, resuming with a public event covering a topic of particular local interest - the Northern Lights.
Here's a summary of the events for the second part of 2016...
Friday 12th August - CAG members photo expedition to capture the Perseid meteor shower (event is weather dependent). Meeting point to be announced later.
Thursday 1st September - "Aurora: In Search of the Northern Lights" - Free public talk by Dr Melanie Windridge at Thurso High School (7.30pm)
2nd-4th September - CAG will be part of the event programme at the Orkney International Science Festival
Friday 30th September - Public Talk and Observing Session at Forsinard (details TBC)
Friday 28th October - Members Workshop & Observing Session
Friday 11th November - "Magnificent Desolation - Getting to Know Our Celestial Neighbour, The Moon" - Free public talk by Gordon Mackie, and the chance to view and image the Moon and other celestial objects through CAG telescopes
Friday 2nd December - Members Meteors & Mince Pies Event
