Family Friendly Stargazing Event

Following on from the ever popular BBC Stargazing Live programmes that same week, on Friday 15th January 2016 Caithness Astronomy Group will be holding a free family friendly stargazing event at the Castlehill Heritage Centre in Castletown. Event commences at 7pm.

Join us for a guided tour of the winter night sky and the chance to get a closeup view of the Moon and other celestial objects through our telescopes. Don’t forget to bring your smartphone along and capture your very own image of the moon.

Indoor content will include a talk full of stunning images captured by spacecraft that have travelled billions of miles across the solar system …

“Our Solar System - Views for a Virtual Tourist”

The observing session is dependent on suitable weather. Warm refreshments will be served but warm clothing is essential for observing outside.

Children are very welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This is a dark location - bring a torch to aid in the short walk from the car park to the venue entrance.
