Not a Caithness Astronomy Group event, but one not to be missed by anyone who ever dreamt of being an astronaut and exploring in Space.
Duane "Digger" Carey will talk about his humble beginnings in the housing projects of St Paul, Minnesota, in a single parent home. He will then discuss his education, U S Air Force career, and his training and journey to the Hubble Telescope as a Space Shuttle Pilot. His aim is to inspire people, particularly the young, to believe in and then to achieve their dreams.
Organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology in partnership with the Thurso Panel of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, KP (kelvin probe) Technology Ltd, and with Science O3 which organises the Caithness International Science Festival and other STEM activities in the County.
Event starts in the Weigh Inn, Thurso at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd September. Visit the IET website for full details.
