Neighbourhood Safety Team Results May 2012

 

Update on current issues in the area:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The neighbourhood safety officer has been busy working closely with the Neighbourhood Policing Team investigating the following:

 

Numerous investigations have taken place in relation to anti social behaviour in the following areas

 

Medina Gardens-youths causing asb

Gore Sands-verbal abuse/property damage

 

 

The Neighbourhood Victim Liaison officer has continued to provide support to 11 victims of anti social behaviour not only aiding reporting of incidents of asb but also addressing victims complex needs and issues working with a diverse range of agencies including ILOP, Vulnerable Adults team, Mental Health Crisis team, Lakeside MHU NHS, Victim Support and numerous other agencies.

Since 1st Jan  to 1st April 2012 in the Acklam Area

 

35 Initial warnings issued

1 ABC signed

4 Joint interviews with the police

29 referrals to supportive agencies for intervention

2 Joint out of hours patrols with Police to hotspot areas

1 Tenancy Breaches

1 ABC Breach notices

4 Section 27 follow up warnings for alcohol related disorder

 

In response to complaints of youths digging holes and shouting verbal abuse at residents near Gore Sands 5 youths have been issued with warnings and the hole have been filled in.

 

In response to residents complaints of youths congregating and urinating in the bushes on Medina Gardens the Neighbourhood Safety Team has arranged with Street scene services to have the overgrown trees and bushes cut back to increase visibility and deter individuals from further offences in this area.

 

In preparation of Operation Kader a further 37 proactive warnings have been issued to perpertrators identified from last years operation advising of the actions the council and police will take to individuals involved in such nuisance behaviour.

 

 

The pilot revisits with the NSO and police have continued in respect to follow up warnings in Acklam to individuals issued with numerous  section 27 directions to leave for alcohol related disorder

1.The Neighbourhood Safety Team wishes to thank all residents who continue to provide diary sheets regarding incidents of anti social behaviour. These are essential to follow any legal actions to prohibit further incidents of anti social behaviour. Please can residents continue to complete diary sheets as they are essential to our work.

2.The Neighbourhood Safety Officer is appealing to residents of Medina Gardens/Otterburn Gardens to come forward with any complaints of anti social behaviour affecting their area.
