Some Random Thoughts….
…on life, death and re-birth.
We’re going through our books again, seeing if there are any more to donate to the Heksmoar library….

I took from the shelf a copy of ‘The Orion Mystery’ by Robert Bauval & Adrian Gilbert. Inside, I found a piece of paper with some notes I made when I read the book – I don’t remember how many years ago. Reading these notes again, I thought I’d transcribe them here as they might be of interest. Here goes…
“So…..the Pharoah is a living embodiment of a God – Osiris. When the Pharoah dies, he is mummified and taken into the pyramid. The shafts which cut through the pyramid align with the constellation of Orion. Orion = Osiris.
So…..the Pharoah, on his death, becomes Osiris and becomes a star – is re-born as a star.
At the same time, Sirius (Isis) rises also, at which time the annual Nile flood happens.
So….Egypt is re-born by the fertility produced in the flood.
Osiris and Isis join again annually to give life to Egypt.
The Pharoah embodies and is Egypt.
He doesn’t ‘die’ – he becomes a star in the constellation of Orion. Re-birth all-round, for Egypt as a land, and for the Pharoah - as a country’s leader is seen as that country – as in Kings of England can be referred to just as ’England’.
Land and ruler completely inter-twined and inter-dependent.
Both are re-born by the concurrent rising of Orion and Sirius.
Oh yes!
And, of course, Sirius/Isis is female, the mother who brings life, as does the Nile to Egypt.
Also…the idea that each monument needs to be taken, not just individually, but as part of a group. They connect with each other. This is like the Orkney monuments.
You can view them separately, but they also ‘work’ as a connected group.
And, of course, the main idea & purpose of both the pyramids and the cairns and circles is the idea of re-birth.
Were the monument builders & the pyramid builders in contact with each other?
They’re working from the same ideas – re-birth, life as a continuum.
Hmmmmm!”
That’s a verbatim transcript of my notes – and I’ll add that some of the Orkney monuments pre-date the Pyramids.
