I was going to write that it’s about what our brains do to us - but on second thoughts – it’s more to do with what we do to ourselves through the agency of our brains. And this is all written in a very straight-forward way.

It’s a book that I want to read quickly, but don’t want to read quickly because then I’ll have finished it. It really is very good indeed.

I’ve previously read ‘An Anthropologist on Mars’ and ’The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat‘ by Oliver Sacks – and they are also of immense interest – he writes from a great understanding of and compassion for what it is to be human…...
