Step by step up the wall of Brodgar…..the aerial view gives a better idea of where the steps are in relation to the whole structure……

And – the two sets of steps exposed so far are evenly spaced, so - might there be more to be found as the excavation continues?
Steps are such a human thing – you can picture someone walking up them to stand and look out over the wall…..
It was why I didn’t worry about the Daleks conquering Earth – they couldn’t manage the steps – then the buggers worked out how to fly.

Klingon With A Cold……
Bartholomew Barker https://bartbarkerpoet.com/ has a head-cold – and he wrote this Fraiku about it……
“The back of my mouth
tastes like a bag of old nickels
nose oozing meh”
To which I responded with my own – kind-of Haiku – I’m never very clear about what is and what isn’t a Haiku….
"When I have a cold
My head exclaims in Klingon
‘Accccch-tarr-phu’tu-g’rtch.”
Then a Klingon pedant informed me that…. “majQa’! Though you misspelled the tlhIngan. It is more properly rendered “aH tar pu’ tu’ gharch”.
My lord – it’s come to something when I’m corrected in Klingon!

This Beggars Belief…..
A petition to try to stop public money - that is - tax-payers money - being used to pay Boris Johnson’s legal fees as he defends himself regarding how he misled Parliament, and the whole nation….I told you it beggars belief – not the petition itself, but the fact that Vicky Ropner needed to set it up in the first place….here it is…
“In recent days it's emerged that Boris Johnson's legal bills will continue to be paid by the taxpayer as he defends himself against claims he misled parliament over Partygate. [1]
Vicky, an NHS psychologist, believes it's unacceptable that even a penny more of the tax from her NHS wages is used to defend a former Prime Minister who resigned in disgrace after breaking Covid rules, while her colleagues were risking their lives. That's why she's set up a petition calling on Rishi Sunak to step in and cancel taxpayer funded support for a man who can afford to pay for it himself. [2]
So, do you agree with Vicky? If so, can you sign the petition today to make sure the public does not carry on paying Boris Johnson's legal fees as he tries to defend his past bad behaviour:
To: Prime Minister Rishi Sunak
What: This country's taxpayers should not be footing the bill for Johnson defending his lies over party gate! He should be made to pay his own legal bills, he's made enough from speeches he's given since leaving Downing Street.
Why is this important: While people up and down the country followed the rules, made sacrifices and lost loved ones Boris Johnson held parties - and then lied about it. I don't want a penny of the tax I pay on my NHS wage to be spent defending a wealthy former Prime Minister who broke Covid lockdown rules while my colleagues were risking their lives. And right now so many Brits can't afford to eat or heat their homes, they do not need another expense.
Most of us were brought up to believe that when we were found to be telling a lie, it was important to accept responsibility and apologise. Boris seems to have been brought up to say if you're caught with your pants on fire, you lie, lie and lie again! There is no shame at all.
No one in Whitehall - or outside of it - seriously believes that Johnson is innocent of misleading parliament. His colleagues in the Conservative Party should tell him to stand up, admit fault and accept his punishment. Instead they're approving him using our money to try and weasel out of it.
