CAPITA SYMONDS REVISED OUTSEATS PLAN

We said it was going to warm up and sure enough.. ..... Quite predictable as AVBC are voting on the Core Strategy on the 26th of September.
Not surprising since you have kicked up a real stink.

As you will see from the attached document. Capita Symonds have changed their plans yet again. Not surprising since Alfreton has been making such a fuss about the whole proposal.

When you look at their Plan they have even made things worse by deleting one of the exits ( By the school) a good decision but they have made no alternative. So in fact now everything will go via the Mansfield Road or thorough the Birchwood road exit. , causing more traffic congestion than the previous plan. Everything will still have to go down Flowery Leys Lane and Birchwood Road.
(Look under the heading of PLANS. there are revised road plan, traffic flow and bottleneck plans. )

Still the rat run to the A38. Still the congestion at the One Stop. Still the congestion in Abbot Road.Still the congestion at Lidl.
Even more noise & traffic at the proposed new roundabout on the Mansfield Road.

AVBC  are still not making things easy for us to see what is going on, as you will see from the attachment.
Have a look at the plans by going into Amber Valley Borough Council.com.     Click on "View Planning Applications".       Select "Search by application No."   type in AVA/2012/0084 Press enter.  & wait & wait & wait ( their computer system is so slow.) When it comes up, note the sections. especially the traffic ones,  select the third   "Layout plan No1". This will bring up the new map.

The bus gate is to restrict traffic flow. They usually only put these in when they anticipate heavy use by large vehicles.  Hey !   Good idea. BUT look at the road network. (Sat Nav and all that). Heavy vehicles will only go around the obstruction! by the side road, conveniently set to circunavigate the Gate    and    LOOK!     should a lorry driver realise they cant get through, all they have to do is reverse a few yards and go around the side road, conveniently coloured in yellow for us, to get back to an already narrow Birchwood Road and then up to the One Stop via Abby Road or Flowery Leys Lane, an already congested junction. Brillianbt, no change there then.
Any more bright ideas?   Cynical we may be,    Stupid we are not.

We need as many people, yet again, to write and complain about these new stupid plans. When you do, don't forget to ref your letter with the application No AVA/2012/0084

The Protest Group are going to  need  a lot of help if we are to succeed in getting this proposed development stopped.  As you know we have gone for Village green Status for Outseats Farm but we can not rely on just this. At the there are a few things in the pipeline and we are going to need help. I doesn't matter how much, it's the offer that counts. You don't even have to be in the front line, working anonymously is OK as well. Contact us on our new e-mail address at the top of the page and offer help.

Regards      Your protest group
