Two & a half years since I added to this ! Sorry .
Anyway - here at last are Chapters 4 and 5 - all the text, though it still needs "cosmetic" work on it, and particularly on the Charts.
Chapter 5 carries a sad tale . . .
Staunch Catholics, but secret; pillars of the Community.
Daughter marries a bit of a nutter, who goes off to London; he stops at an Inn, and happens to mention that the purpse of his journey is to kill Queen Elizabeth.
He is arrested, and SAYS that his father-in-law agrees with him. So he is let off, for spilling the beans. Father-in-law (my ancestor) is arrested, ALL his Esates & property are confisctaed, and he is executed, leaving his widow penniless and homeless.
Destitute, she eventually decides to go to London to petition the Queen to at least allow her a small pension. She is never heard of again.
