For guests who like to swim there are several options in the immediate area.
During Andalucian school holidays from mid June , July and August there are excellent municipal pools in Montejaque, Benaoján and Grazalema. These pools offer tremendous value for money. All the municipal pools have first class facilities and a bar for drinks and snacks.
The Grazalema pool has unparallel views from its cliff top position. The pool at Benaoján also has a restaurant which offers a very good menú del día. There is also a smaller, shallower pool for very little people. There are sun loungers and parasols.
Should you decide the sun is just too hot for you to be outside, then there is a large recently opened indoor pool in Ronda, near to the Mercadona Supermarket.
If you are feeling brave and in need of adventure, then the fish pool at the Cueva del Gato is an exhilarating dip in the cool waters fresh from the heart of the mountains... Deep breath, tummy in and GO FOR IT!
Another alternative is the Lake at Zahara de la Serria (Embalse de Zahara) which is a short drive from Montejaque on the main road between Ronda and Arcos in the direction of Sevilla. It offers numerous spots in which spend a leisurely half day swimming and basking in the sun with fantastic views of the nearby Grazalema mountains. Combine this with a visit to the nearby fortress town of Zahara and you have a splendid day out for all of the family.
