Gateway Community Garden

Down at the south end of the village by the south roundabout is the Gateway Garden, so named as it is on the way in to the village from the A737. A former garage and fuel station, it became a brownfield site, until Kilbarchan Smile were allowed the use of is as a community garden.

We are restricted in that we are not permitted to plant anything in the ground because of possible soil contamination. All plantings have to be in containers and raised beds. We welcome anyone who wishes to work with us in caring for the plants and growing spaces. When available, some of these can be adopted as individual/family growing spaces, which is especially useful if you do not have a garden, and are looking to grow your own.
