Fundraising

We attend a number of fundraising events throughout the year such as car boot sales, local shows such as Latheron and Bower. We hold our own dog show and produce a calendar each year. This year we have also produced Christmas cards at a mere £3 for a pack of six cards. We will provide information on these events throughout the year.

If you would like to participate, volunteer or even have an idea for setting up an event of your own please get in touch.

You can help by helping at these events, purchasing a calendar or cards or by running your own event to raise funds for us. You could also set up a regular payment by standing order. Please get in contact if you can help.

How the funds are used

We try to run the organisation using as little funds as possible to ensure as much money as possible is available for the dogs. Funds may be used to neuter dogs, emergency or necessary vet treatment, purchasing dog food or other equipment. Occasionally we may need to buy ink and paper, but these consumables are usually donated to the cause.

Fostering

Every dog we take into our care needs a foster home. This is a vital part of our function. Putting a dog into a foster home allows us to find out what the dog is like in a domestic environment. Some dogs have come from a home and are housetrained and used to a collar and lead. Others have no knowledge of living indoors, wearing a collar or even having decent quality food. A foster dog may come for a couple of days, be no trouble and move on quickly. Others need training, gentle confidence building and may in some cases need care for some time. One thing is certain, if you provide a foster home for one of our dogs you will make a massive difference for that dog. Please help. We welcome homes where you have children, other dogs and maybe even cats but some of our dogs are unable to cope with so much going on so if you have a quiet home where you are maybe home most of the time you really could help with our special needy dogs. Please get in touch if you think you could help.
