Teaching Guatemalan children wildlife conservation and recycling as valuable tools to stay ahead, while development is unfolding at fast pace throughout central and south America, having a profound impact on the changing environment in Guatemala.
In the rural Guatemalan highlands ecology and wildlife conservation is an important awareness project. Guatemalan rural indigenous people have been under increasing pressure after only just being 15 years out of violent civil war, being amidst rapid development. Capitalistic interests and exploits in central America brings many pollution problems that Guatemalans have had little time to adapt to, without the necessary resources provided to them or the knowledge on how to protect their health and care for the environment in rapidly changing times. Learning ecological concepts and sustainabilty techniques is one way to support adaptation to rapid development of the environment.
